The Seraph of Man
Cult of the Deified Emperor
In year 890, as the books hold, the Emperor Titus Servilius Pontius ascended to godhood after reigning for 72 years. It is said that he was selected for this honor by heaven because of his just, pious, and virtuous rule. Ostensibly, Titus has raised a number of subsequent Emperors to god status. In reality, only a very select few have actually achieved this. Many of the emperors who have only been worshiped for short periods of time were not deified, but rather had sons on the throne or other political supporters striving to ride the public enthusiasm for the deceased Emperor. Each raised emperor has an individual domain to supervise. Temples of the Cult have a main chamber devoted to Titus and surrounding him, the officially recognized minor emperors. Depending on the location and affluence of the temple, it might have a number of small chapels or annexes devoted to minor emperors.
